Last year in March, 50-State Network advocate Anna Marie Meyer testified before the Oregon House of Representatives Committee on Health Care in opposition to HB 2026. This bill lacked critical notification requirements and actually repealed the existing law that required a pharmacist to notify a patient if his/her biologic was switched. We are pleased to tell you that Anna’s efforts paved the way for Oregon House Bill 4105 to be signed into law March 14, 2016 by Governor Brown. The bill requires a pharmacist that dispenses an interchangeable biosimilar product to notify a patient’s physician when a substitution is made within five calendar days after dispensing.
